Twice in a weekend :)

After not having been to the movies in forever,
So long that I cant even remember the last time I went, I ended up going twice this weekend.
Twice!
What has gotten into me?!?

I guess my cheapskate tendencies left me for the weekend or something.

On Friday my friend Corina invited me to the movies and we were deciding between footloose and abduction. Although I do have love for Taylor Lautner I just couldn't pass up seeing a remake of a great cheezy dance movie.

I loved it. It was sooo cute!
Not to mention the main actor who played Ren, he was pretty cute too ;)
He could teach me how to dance with that Boston accent of his anytime....;)
And the guy who played Willard was a hoot! Omg he was stinkin adorable!

After watching it though I  wanted to go home and watch the original, but of course it wasn't to be found anywhere!
I looked everywhere, all weekend, and nobody had it to rent.
So lame.

On Sunday my Mom and I went out to breakfast after church and didn't really want to go home so I offered to buy us tickets to see Courageous.
Woah.
Seriously Great Movie.
Girls I am warning you though; Bring tissues!!
And Guys: Be prepared to be challenged.

This is one of those movies that doesn't leave you after you walk out of the theater.
I cant imagine anyone seeing this and not re-evaluating their own life afterwards.
I have seen the other movies that Sherwood pictures has done but I think this one is now my favorite, there was such a good message.
They really address the problem we have today with so many fathers dropping the ball and not stepping up to their intended position as a leader of their household.
I could really go on for days about this movie, but I will spare you.
Just do yourself a favor and go see it.

Have you seen any new movies lately??

-Jamie

Ps. Courageous definitely raised some of my standards for my future husband.
Just sayin...

Warning: Photo Overload ahead.

So here are a ton of pics from our day trip to so cal.
Enjoy!

Had to get a Picture in front of the pier sign.
Duh.
Oh and this was like the 10th picture my mom attempted and my sister was hysterically laughing about something, So obviously had to post it.

Apparently Flava Flav works at the santa monica pier now.
I did notice he wasn't wearing any clocks around his neck though....
Maybe he has made a turning point in his life....
We can only hope.

While we took this picture there was an elderly couple sitting on the end of the bench yelling "smile!"
ummm...I thought that's what I was doing sir??

The parents.
And the Ocean.

So this is Clint.
Clint is a pretty good singer.
More importantly though, Clint is one of my friends husbands twin.
or really similar looking (slightly rougher also) younger brother.
I am betting he is his twin though.

We stopped in Hollywood to have lunch and when we were walking past the LA film school my dad jumped in on a game of hackey sack.
This was the only shot I could get because I couldn't grab my camera out of my purse fast enough.
I am pretty sure its the best shot ever though.
In case you cant tell, my dad is the one in action.
Yep, look at that skill.
Pure Hackey sack awesomeness I tell ya.
Oh and my dad said he was pretty sure all those guys were impressed.
yeah I am sure they were too dad.

My name is Jamie and as a Child I was obsessed with Doris Day.

I am thinking about copying that girls outfit behind me.
The one with the lips on her shirt. I mean half shirt.
Yeah, that one.
Whatchya think?!?!
Ok so this is a really crappy picture that doesn't even begin to show you how legit and amazing this house was.
It was basically a castle.
Not even basically, It was.

We drove up to the hollywood sign and there were so many amazing homes.
Like hanging right off the hill, it was crazy.
Crazy cool.

I obviously wasn't aware of where the hollywood sign was by the direction I was pointing.
And my sister also thought it was a little over to the right too.
We aren't that great with directions.
Or pointing.

I wasn't sure how to pose in this picture and the sorority squat is always my default.
I apologize.
My favorite thing about this photo is definitely my dad on his tippy toes taking a picture of a couple behind us.

Pretty as a post card!
Am I right?!?!?

I am really glad we live so close to Los Angeles because we were able to do quite a bit in just the one day we had to visit.

I really should Make it over there more often, I have a really good friend that lives there and was sad We didn't get to see each other since I was only there for the day :(

But don't fret Diane! I will be visiting soon enough and you will be wishing I was gone ;)
jk.
Nobody ever gets tired of me.
That's just silliness.

-Jamie

ps. My sister officially thinks I am the funniest person alive.
I think it was my comedy act I came up with for if I was ever invited to entertain prison inmates.
It pretty much sent her over the edge.

Learn something new everyday.

I apparently like taking pictures of other people taking pictures. Proof ^^^^

In case you haven't caught on yet, My sister (the one in college @ ORU) came home for fall break this week and brought her roommate Jade.

So yesterday we introduced her to a little bit of California and took a day trip to Los Angeles.

And because the theme of my posts this week have been laziness,  I decided to keep going with it for today's post and tell you that I will be writing another post about our trip, which includes a bunch of pictures, Mainly of us looking like total tourists (of course).

I wish I had excuses for being so lazy this week.
But I don't.
I am not one to sugar coat things, I was just plain Lazaay!

With that said, there will be a post up soon with lots and lots of pictures for your viewing pleasure :)
or not.
I wont force you to look at them or anything.

But I will tell you there might be an entertaining photo of my dad playing hackey sack.
Maybe.

-Jamie

Ps. I may or may not have given Jade a tour of Sunset Blvd. entirely in a southern accent.
Again, May or may not have happened.

A Love Letter.

Even though I haven't known you for very long I have come to really appreciate you. I didn't really know what to expect when we first met, but it didn't take long for me to truly understand you. You give me so much inspiration, you have shown me some great recipes (although I still have yet to try them myself) You've given me great style tips, and some great words of wisdom! Whats even more great is that My friends love you too! We talk about you a lot ;) I am excited to get to know you more :)

Oh Pinterest, how I adore you :)

Love,
Jamie

Ps. Did you think I was talking about a boy?!?
Ha!
yeah right.

Because I'm Lazy.

Here is my life in instagrams from the past week.

Finally got some brown riding boots :)
So if you see me riding a horse to work instead of driving my car, don't be surprised ;)

Remember that recipe I gave you? Yeah I didn't do it.

Hailey made me take her to yogurtland. Plain Tart, fruity pebbles, watermelon, sour worms and gummy bears is the only way to eat it.

I was told I HAD to play with gymnast barbie....I was ok with it.

Hailey was double fistin her top ramen this weekend.

You know those riding boots I told you about?? Yeah, Breanna bought the same ones.
I aint mad, I see it as a compliment when people have the same stuff as me ;)

This was supposed to be a picture of us with our matching boots, our boots got cut off....go figure.
Morgan drove back home from Oklahoma for fall break and brought her roommate who is from Iowa and never had slurpees or in n out.
I'm happy to say I was there to see her experience both for the first time.

Oh and she liked it. Just in case you were wondering;)

Janet got a gun.

My mom proudly holding her new hand gun and gun manuel, who knew guns came with manuels??
Most of you have already seen this picture, unless you don't stalk me on facebook and instagram ;)

My mom finally purchased a hand gun.

Its funny that she got it the day I moved in.
Either she is afraid we have more of a chance of intruders because I have a bad habit of not locking doors (oops) or she thinks I am gonna bring some shady people around the house now and might need to protect herself.
Both are probably pretty logical reasons.

My mom let me hold it and I immediately got in trouble for pointing it at my dad.
I guess you aren't supposed to point it at people even if it isn't loaded.
Learn something new everyday.

I am thinking of packing.
What do you think?
I think I could probably get my dad to get me a gun too...maybe.
But then I would have to get a special purse to carry it in and I would only want to carry it if it was cute, and then it probably wouldn't match all my outfits.......
Hmmm...
Then again I don't know if my dad would be very smart to live under a roof with 2 women carrying guns.
I mean, there is that saying "Hell hath no fury like a women scorned"...

I would probably settle for a stun gun. I think that would be more fun anyways.

The fact that I referred to carrying a type of gun as "fun" probably means I shouldn't carry any kind of weapon huh??

Maybe I will just stick to my pepper spray key chain that my parents got me when I moved to Los Angeles the first time.
But again, they aren't very cute and the weigh down my keys.
Maybe if they made them with rhinestones or glitter or something....

Excuse me while I google "Rhinestoned pepper spray"........

If you know me at all you know that I AM a fan of change.
Apparently I am one of the few though, I have noticed most people do not welcome change as warmly as I do.
I just think life gets boring if things aren't constantly changing.
Anyone feel me?!?

Anyways, this weekend I noticed there is one area that I do not welcome change.

And that is food.
Food at restaurants to be exact.
I like trying new things at home, but not at restaurants.

Name a place to eat and I can tell you exactly what I get, every. single. time.

See that pasta ^^^^^??
Yeah, that's the only thing I have ever ordered at that restaurant.
Btw, that is a picture of Breanna's pasta,(she copied me and got the same thing) because by the time I remembered I wanted to document my delicious dinner, my plate was somehow empty.
I'm not really sure how it happened.
You know how there is that lil monster that lives in your dryer and eats all your socks??
I think he has a cousin that comes and eats your dinner off your plate when you aren't looking.
How could I possibly finish a whole pasta dish after having a bunch of bread and butter right before??

So after telling you all of this you are probably expecting to read that now when I go to restaurants I am going to try my hardest to try something new and mix it up a little bit.

If I told you that though, it would be a straight up lie.
I don't plan on trying new things.
I like what I like.
So the next time I go to that Italian restaurant again, expect to see a picture of that exact same pasta.
I know, I know, I am probably like the most interesting person you have ever met now right??
Yeah. Thought so.
