Forever 21 Lust

Forever 21 faithfully emails me taunting me with their super trendy & super affordable clothes and accessories all the time. I usually just delete the email right away so I am not tempted but the other day I gave in.
But dont worry, I didnt actually order anything, or stop by my local forever and buy anything.
Instead I am just gonna show you what I would have bought if I wasnt trying to pay off a load of debt and save up money for something super exciting in the future ;)
I am hoping all of you will go out and buy some of these things for yourself, It will make me feel better knowing someone else will be wearing this uber cute stuff :)
I LOVE polka dots.
Was I the only one under the impression that a tunic was a shirt not a dress? Because they are calling this a tunic but wearing it as a dress.... Maybe its one of those items that a super tall person
(my sister, she's 6 feet)has to wear as a shirt and shorter people can wear as a dress. They should come up with a term for that.
I also love lace, can you tell? I'm not a girly girl or anything.
Ok so I know I am probably like the only person not looking forward to summer ending because I Love, love, love summer! But I cant help but lust after fall because of these sweaters. They look soo comfy and you cant beat that price!
Can I admit something?
I take TERRIBLE care of my sunglasses. They never go in a case, always just get thrown in my purse, Idk how many times I have sat on a pair and broken them. So thats why Forever 21 glasses are great for me. I can afford to buy several pair and keep replacing them when they break because they are so stinkin' cheap! And I am all about cheap! And arent these ones so fun?!? I dont think I will ever get away from adding a little animal print in my wardrobe here and there.
I am really loving these stacked rings I have been seeing lately. Although I could do without that little butterfly on the first ring. I have a weird thing about butterflies, I dont think they belong anywhere in my wardrobe at the age of 24. I hate when i see a really cute top or pattern and then there is a random butterfly on it. Its a huge pet peeve. But then there are people who think I probably shouldnt wear a shirt with the ninja turtles on it at this age either.
And last but not least this colorful scarf. I like all the bright colors on top of the black, it really makes the pattern pop.

Well, there you have it. These are the things I am currently lusting over. Seriously go buy something. Even just one thing, it will make me feel so much better. And if you feel inclined to pick me up something while you are there, you dont have to fight the urge ;)
Have fun shopping friends!

Happy Birthday Hula!

Today is my Roomie's Bday!
She is extra awesome because she has the same name as me, Even though I only call her Hula.
So I thought it would be fun to reminisce on all the fun I have had with her over the years :)
Last summer we stepped out of our comfort zones and signed up to be counselors for youth camp at our church. Little did we know this is where Hula(Jamie) would begin her romance with her soon to be husband Brandon :)

Weddings! :):):)
We like taking pictures in San Francisco while Justin Bieber look alikes walk past us ;)
And since we share the same name (same spelling too!!) It just makes sense that we dress the same too.

This is the Disneyland face. Dont ask.
We love going on trips, this trip was pretty epic. We had a full day at Disneyland and left delirious. I was so Delirious that on the drive home I saw elephants in the middle of the freeway. Now looking back I am kinda surprised we made it home safely.
This is one year ago today! Now Hula can rent a car all by herself, Its sooo exciting ;)
Happy Birthday Friend, Love ya!

Friday night recap

Friday night lots of this happened.
[Charades]
This being lots of laughs.
But before the laughing ensued, this happened:
[Pizza casserole]
I cooked! I found a recipe that combined two of my favorite things; pizza and pasta!
I did all of this while watching one of my favorite shows:
[one of the funniest shows on the planet]

Since I was cooking I invited over my sister and her best friend Stephanie to enjoy this very rare occasion.
They were smarties and brought a board game.
 [cranium]
And that is where all the laughing began.....

We ended the night with a couple episodes of "say yes to the dress' and "four weddings" which me and Breanna chalked up to "research" for our Hula's upcoming wedding :)
Oh and don't mind the funny placing of the watermarks on the photos, I forgot to rotate the photos before the watermark was added and was to lazy to fix it afterwards. Me lazy? I know, shocker!!(in the voice of Dani from Big brother)

I hope everyone Else's Friday night was as hilarious as mine was, if not, grab a few friends and play a round of cranium, laughs are guaranteed :)

More to come soon :)

So this is what we were sort of going for:

How do you think we did??

Smile! Its Friday!

Allow me to introduce you to the infamous "BCG'S" or Birth Control Glasses.

I did a quick photo shoot of my sister last night because she is leaving to Korea for a year with the Air Force next week.

So we had a some fun taking pictures with what was once her despised pair of spectacles during boot camp.

These glasses were one of the many things that convince me that the military does everything they can to make all the women the least feminine possible.
Enough Military talk, I could go on for days about that.

Instead here are some things I am looking forward to this weekend!

1. Baby shower (I get to see all kinds of cute baby stuff and family at the same time!)
2. Wedding dress shopping!!
3. Trip to Yosemite to take some family Pictures of my cousins :)
4. Its the weekend, that alone is something to get excited about!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and Monday doesnt sneak up on us to fast!
-Jamie

Ps. If you cant figure out why those glasses are called birth control glasses.......just think about it for a little while. You will get it ;)

The things that God cannot do.

"I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and i will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you. declares the Lord and will bring you back from captivity." Jeremiah 29:11-14

This is what my devotional said about this verse:

" Today endless darkness may seem to surround you, just as the Israelites experienced. maybe it is hard to remember the last time you felt free or comfortable. You've watched your business struggle, your friend fight disease or a child disown you. And you may have lived in this place for such a long time that you consider it a second home.

Whether or not the darkness is of your own making, and whether or not you can see its end, remember this; God owns time. Though he rarely shares his reasons with us, he knows why he allows the pain to continue. And he also knows the date- the day , the hour and the precise minute- when the agony will end. Not only that, but he also knows what he has in store for us when its over. "

When I read my devotional I was reminded of a sermon I heard while visiting Jentzen Franklin's church; free chapel.  He titled his message "Things God cannot do". Before he began speaking I was thinking the same thing that you were probably thinking when you read the title of this post. What? How could he title his message that? God can do anything! But its true. There are some things God just cannot do.

One of those things God cannot do is Lie. He just cant do it. So all those things he promises in the bible, He wasn't kidding. He wasn't lying in the verse above saying that he has plans for us, and not just any plans, but plans to prosper us, and give us a hope and a future! If that doesn't get you excited then you might wanna check your pulse!

God also cannot change. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. So again those promises? Not only are the true and tangible, they aren't changing! The same things he promised the people in the bible he has promised to us!

So with all that said, if you are feeling down or worn out about your circumstances, remember, God promised us an abundant life (John 10:10) Take hold of that promise, its not outdated and its not a lie. And remember that God is never early or late, but always on time. He will bring you through it.

Going to the Chapel....

On sunday we (the friends and I) went to A bridal show.
And now I am here to tell you about. With lots of pictures.
[Look at the cute veils they were giving all the brides :)]

My roommate Hula (above) is getting married!
And whats even more exciting is I am a bridesmaid! K that might not be more exciting then her getting married, but its pretty darn close.

And as I already said, we went to a bridal show!
It was fantastic. Cant figure out why I haven't been hitting these things up before now. You get to sample foods, look at pretty wedding things, watch a fashion show and for only $8! Which is a win-win in my book.
 [swag bag]

"Swaaaag...Stuff.We.All.Get."
If you can tell me where that quote is from you will win a prize. Not really, but You might go up a notch on my favorite people list ;)

These big black bags and the veils helped the vendors tell the brides from everyone else.

 [brochure scanning]

After we realized how long it was gonna take to go from booth to booth we no longer stopped at each booth and looked at the brochures. We just grabbed one, threw it in the big black bag, and moved along. We had food to taste and a fashion show to see!

[Breanna fulfilling one of the many bridesmaid duties]

I have to admit something. We didnt know what we were getting ourselves into going to this thing. We were not prepared. You know how many of those forms we had to fill out?? Each booth was giving away stuff, so at each booth we had to fill out an entry form (we cheated the system and each filled one out every time giving her at least 3 entries) Dont really know if that was cheating but I can tell you we werent the only ones doing it. Anyways there was another bridal party there who had made stickers with all the brides info on it to just stick on the entry forms. Genius! Wishing we would have thought of it first. Saving that idea for next time folks.

[snapped a quick pic together while making an appt at the davids bridal booth]

[I made her show off her super cute maxi dress that I am totally jealous of]
[Breanna practicing her bridesmaid duties for the wedding day]
 [mini makeover]
One of those thousand entries paid off right away and Hula one a mini make-over!
[the bag got really heavy after we filled it with swaaag..]
 [best friends]

[Breanna doing what she does best:organizing]
Dont let that smile fool you though, pretty sure she was yelling at us about something right before this ;)
[Hula checking out one of the perks of all the swag: a gift certificate to a salon!]
[Hula modeling her favorite swag item: hand sanny of course!]

We ended up having a great day and were able to collect A LOT of information. I would really suggest you check out a bridal show before you get married and decide on things like your venue, caterer, photographer, flowers and everything else that a wedding entails. You will be glad you did :)
